Facebook B.S.

posted in: Random Stuff | 3

Apparently it has been going around the blogosphere that if you want your blog’s Facebook page posts to be “promoted” to the tops of reader’s wall feed, the blogger can do so by paying for it.  I don’t think so.  Sorry friends, but I’m not paying Facebook to do what it should be doing for free.  If I don’t pay for my posts to be featured then they get demoted to the bottom of your news feed and you may never know that I posted something that will change your life.  Like my grandmother’s chocolate cake or ridiculous pictures of the elf.

However, there is a way around this Facebook B.S.  but it takes a teeny-tiny bit of effort on your part, dear reader.

Here’s the deal.  First you need to hop on over to my Facebook page.  Hover your mouse over the “Liked” button.  (Assuming you have already “liked” the Hugs, Kisses and Snot Facebook page.  If you have not *gasp*, I forgive you, but go ahead and do that right now before Santa finds out.)  When you hover your mouse over the “Liked” button a drop down box will appear and you will want to click on “Show in News Feed”.  You can do this for all of your favorite pages and will ensure that posts from your favorite bloggers aren’t lost whenever Facebook reshuffles the deck.

Here’s my visual aid:

I’m a little peeved that I have to be using my blogging time to tell all you wonderful readers about this but a blogger can’t live with out Facebook.  So a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.

If you take the time to do this I really and truly appreciate it.  And I really appreciate all 14 of you coming back week after week to read my little blog.  Seriously.

I am so tech challenged so don’t do Facebook and now understand I am even more behind because I don’t do Pinterest.
