A few weeks ago I bought earrings for my sister-in-law and my niece for their birthday’s. As usual, I was late sending them out. I was about two weeks late for my sister-in-law and only a few days late for her daughter. I don’t know what my deal is when it comes to sending packages…I just can’t seem to get it together to get to the post office well enough in advance for the package to make it to its recipient in time for the special occasion. Procrastination. It’s my cross to bare.
I bought these from a friend who has her own jewelry business. Fun stuff. When she gets her website running I’ll share it with the masses, er, all six of you who are reading this. No, the masses. I should think positively.
Anyhoo- I didn’t have any tiny, cute gift bags and since necessity if the mother of invention I looked around to see what I did have. Felt. I have lots of felt. Ribbon. I have a bag of assorted ribbon. And I have a sewing machine. Felt jewelry gift bags were born.
This could not be simpler.
Start with a piece of 12″x4″ felt.
Step 1) Fold short edge over about half an inch and cut small slits about 3/4″ apart. Repeat on other side.
Step 2) Fold in half so the sides with the slits are together and zig zag stitch the sides.
Step 3) Thread ribbon through the slits at the top and voila’. Done. Three simple steps. That’s all you need. Three simple steps and you’re ready to succeed. Damn you OSO!!!!
