Last week BFF came over to do a little wreath crafting. Four days later and we had completed four yarn wreaths. Four?! Yes, four. BFF will be working at an artsy-fartsy art youth camp this month. She is in charge of 11 teenage girls (that sounds like a nightmare) and she wanted to make something special for them to hang on the door of their rooms. We decided on name tag yarn wreaths. We used the Cricut and Ashlyn’s Alphabet cartridge to cut out tags and their names. We also decided to pin the name tags to the wreath instead of gluing them. That way she can take the name tags off and make new ones for next year or decorate her house with lots of wreaths or whatever one does with four yarn wreaths.
Quartz Mountain is a two week summer camp for the artistically inclined. Jocks need not apply. Actually it is a really cool program put on by the Oklahoma Arts Institute. Kids have to audition to get in and they get intensive training in their specialty. Everything from orchestra, choir, dance, film, photography, painting. You name the artistic element and they cover it. Professional instructors are brought in from all over the country and I think it’s kind of a big deal in the Oklahoma artistic community.
Maybe they should add a wreath making discipline.
Have wreaths, will travel.
