Welcome Santa banner

Nothing says “come on in and leave a boat load of presents” like a welcome Santa banner.  Thankfully the Cricut is still at my house so I have been taking advantage of it’s amazing cutting abilities.

The great thing about these homemade banners is that you can make them for next to nothing and keep them simple or go more elaborate with fancy papers and embellishments.  Either way the end product is fabulous.  The only thing my banner cost me was a pack of Christmas themed card stock, 50% off at Hobby Lobby.  For those who are interested the font I used for the letters is Cricut Cartridge, Ashlyn’s Alphabet

Instead of cutting out triangles by hand this time I decided to get all fancy-schmancy and use the Cricut to cut out the background on which my letters would be displayed.  I also used gold glitter glue to outline the boarder.  No Christmas craft is complete without glitter glue.  It’s a rule and Santa will know if you don’t use glitter.  You don’t want to risk the naughty list by not using glitter at Christmas time.  Put it in your cookies just to be on the safe side.

This banner was also the perfect place to display all of the paper snowflakes Addison and I made.  If I get around to it I would like to make even more snowflakes.  In my head I picture my kitchen looking like the department store in Elf after Will Ferrell had his way with it.

I’m pretty sure there will not be any doubt in Santa’s red capped head that he is more than welcome at our house.
