Pioneer Woman Book signing part Trois

posted in: Books, Girl Talk, Reviews | 0

This weekend P-Dub was in Norman signing her newest cookbook.  The Pioneer Woman book signing has become an annual event for me so I would be remiss if I missed her.  I did my duty and stood in line for 3 1/2 hours for 30 seconds of her audience.  It’s the price you pay to see your best friend (who still hasn’t realized you guys are best friends.  But you know what they say…if you love something let it go, if it comes back to your it was meant to be.  I’m still waiting.)

Anyhoo, last year the real BFF and I spent all day in Oklahoma City for her book signing.  The year before that I came home from her book signing and decided that I could be an awesome blogger too.

 Look, our hair is touching!

This year I decided to take a chance and tell her that I’m a blogger too.  She didn’t seem too impressed.  In my head it was going to play out like this:

Me: You inspired me to start blogging three years ago and I’ve loved it ever since.

PW: Really?! What is your blog?

Me: Hugs, Kisses and Snot.

PW: Oh my gosh! I love your blog.  I’m so excited to finally meet you.  You know what?  I’m going to tweet all my readers that they really need to start reading you too.  Hey, do you want to come to the ranch next weekend for our Christmas Eve party?  I’ll blog about it.  Do you want a signed copy of the cookbook to give away to your readers?

It didn’t happen that way.  It was more like this:

Me:  You inspired me to start blogging three years ago and I’ve loved it ever since.

PW:  Oh, that’s nice. (Internal dialog: This is the 15th woman who has tried to push her blog on me today.  My hand is killing me.  I can see the end of the line.  My cheeks are cramping up from smiling for the past 4 hours)

She loves me!  I have it in writing.  Another delightful book signing in the books.  I’ll be checking the mail for her Christmas Eve party invitation daily.  I’m sure it’s on its way.
