Lent, halfway there.

We’re halfway to Easter. Only halfway? Jeez, doesn’t it seem like it already been a really long time? (more…)

Gentlemen Prefer…Blondes?

Last week Dear Husband and I rented Gentlemen Prefer Blondes with Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell. I’ve never seen it and felt like I should. This is the one w/ the famous pink dress, Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend scene. (more…)

Need to feed a crowd?

Recently my precious friend, Jamie, and I were discussing what’s for dinner. She and her husband frequently host college students from their church at their house and she gets the daunting task of feeding them. Yikes. She is tired of the same ol’ casserole and was wondering what she could feed these ravenous college kids.

Jamie, this one is for you. (If you’re feeding a huge crowd of hungry college kids, like Jamie, I suggest you double this recipe) (more…)

Reflections on Addison – Part 2

Approx. 17 months old

Pretty cute, huh? What you don’t see is the mommy behind the camera who is slowly coming unhinged. (more…)

Dear Mr. President – the conclusion

This past Monday started out like most of my Mondays, mundane. Earlier in the day I had the idea to make homemade pizza for dinner. I made dough in my bread machine and had sauce simmering on the stove. This all in thanks to my cute librarian friend. (more…)

Dear Mr. President

We’ve reached the precarious day when the earth’s future depends on our self-imposed limits. (more…)

Stem Cell Research: Saving lives or taking them?

I recently read in the paper that the Oklahoma House of Representatives handily passed a bill that outlaws stem cell research in the state. This is not law yet as it has to pass through the Senate and the Governor. I’ll let you take a guess as to how that will end up. (more…)

Reflections on Addison

When I sit and think back on the past 6 1/2 years I think about the joy, pain, tears, temper tantrums, screaming, laughter, learning, therapy and joy. The list could go on and on. I’m pretty sure that all of those things would make the list when parents think about the early years.

I’m reflecting on Addison because it amazes us at how far he has come.
